Chapel & Claw is a one-woman candle studio built on a love of drawing, daydreaming, and the quiet magic of making. What began as a self-taught art practice specialising in graphite-stained fingers and strange little sketches grew into a desire to share those imagined worlds in a way people could experience, hold, and bring to life in their own spaces.

Here, every candle begins as a story. A character half-glimpsed, a fragment of folklore, a mood that lingers like a whisper. Some arrive as pencil lines that twist into creatures and ghosts; others emerge from scent alone, tugging at memory and atmosphere. Each piece is both illustration and alchemy.

I think of my candles as doorways. Light one, and you enter somewhere new: a myth-drenched forest crowned in vanilla and spice, a storm-lit loch breathing in crisp breeze and eucalyptus, a theatre haunted by lavender and soft footsteps, a crimson night steeped in black cherry and dark romance. Every fragrance is layered and genderless, crafted to evoke a world rather than a single note.

Every candle is hand-poured in small batches using vegan soy wax, cruelty-free oils, cotton wicks, and amber glass vessels chosen for their warm, timeless glow. The labels are illustrated by hand in pencil and ink, designed to feel like storybook relics. Artworks that are meant to be kept long after the flame is gone.

This is a studio for the imaginative, the curious, the ones who believe scent can hold a narrative and art can be a small act of escape.
